Join our jewellery making short course in the beautiful surrounds of the artist’s colony of Montsalvat in Melbourne, with master jeweller Jeanette Dyke and
learn how to make your own jewellery in Jeanette's professional working studio.
The Course:
• Learn everything you need to know in order to make your own jewellery
• Learn how to make simple rings, pendants and earrrings
• Friendly relaxed class, ideal for complete beginners with no experience necessary
• Working with copper and brass sheet and silver wire
• If you want to work in silver then please join either the silver ring class or silver pendant and earring class
You are also welcome to bring your own silver along to use and can purchase silver direct from one of the suppliers I give to you
• Upon completion students have the knowledge to continue to make basic jewellery pieces on their own
• Learn in a professional working studio in the beautiful surrounds of Montsalvat Arts Centre
• Everything is supplied; machinery, metal, tools, blades, emery paper, biscuits, tea
and coffee, super views
• Maximum of 6 students per class
• Suitable for 16yrs+

What skills you will learn:
• Working with base metals and precious metals
• Soldering
• Annealing
• Tools
• Drilling
• Piercing/cutting metal
• Filing
• Measuring and preparing quantities of materials
• Forming metal
• Working with gas torch and using safety pickle
• Finishing techniques and polishing
What you will get:
• By the end of the course you will have several finished jewellery pieces to take home
• You will have lots of help and personal attention as I have a maximum of 6 students per class
• All tools are supplied for you to use during the class (not to keep)
• List of tools suppliers and metal suppliers (my tools suppliers offer my students discount on tools purchases)

What you should bring and wear:
• Dont wear loose clothing such as flared sleeves or scarves
• Non synthetic apron – thick cotton is good
• Bring reading glasses if you wear them
• Closed toe shoes
• A pair of good steady hands
• A pen and notebook
• Tie long hair back
