Bezel Setting Workshop



Join our stone setting workshop in the beautiful surrounds of the artist’s colony of Montsalvat in Melbourne,
with Master Craftswoman Jeanette Dyke and learn how to make your own silver bezel set ring in her professionally equipped studio.



The Course:
• Make a silver bezel set ring and learn bezel setting for cabochon stones
• This course teaches you everything you need to know in order to make your bezel from sheet, we do not use pre made, cast or stamped bezels
• There is a focus on fabricating your own settings so that you will learn how to make settings for any size round, oval or freeform stone yourself

We use a pre made silver ring shank, so the focus is on bezel making and setting
• Tips and tricks on soldering
• Ideal for beginner level jewellers who already have basic skills and intermediate jewellers
• Also suitable for any students who have done any of my classes
• 6 Students maximum per class
• You must have the following skills already: Soldering, annealing, cutting, filing and emerying
• Suitable for 18yrs+

What skills you will learn:
• Making your own bezel from sheet metal to fit your supplied stone

What you will get:
• By the end of the course you will have a stunning silver stone set ring to take home
• You will have lots of help and personal attention as I have a maximum of 6 students in a class
• All tools are supplied for you to use during the class (not to keep)
• A list of tools, stone and materials suppliers
• All consumables included in the price: solder, gas, emery, blades

What you should bring and wear:
• Dont wear loose clothing such as flared sleeves or scarves
• Bring reading glasses if you wear them
• A pair of good steady hands
• A pen and notebook
• Tie long hair back
• Apron
• BYO lunch to eat in the grounds or book the Boulevard restaurant at Montsalvat
• You can bring your own silver ring shank made to your finger size if you prefer
